Good Big Brother

Just a few days ago, Ben brought home this card he had made for his brother while he was in the hospital.

I think it's beautiful. He had most of the teachers in the school sign it. I imagine it got lost on someone's desk, and that's why it came home just now.

I love the "YAY, I CAN RUN WITH EVERYONE!", and how he sectioned off areas for each grade to sign. It's very well planned and thoughtful. Ben is a sweetie.

Special Visitors and Friends

Sam had a couple of special visitors at school this month. Ms. Alicia and Ms. Marisa from the Early Childhood Center where Sam attended two years of preschool. These are two of his VERY favorite people from his preschool years, and two of mine as well! They made a visit to observe the Bridges program which Sam is a part of, and they sent me this pictures afterward. I wish I could have seen his face when they arrived!

And this is Jake G., Sam's friend. Jake loves Sam, and Sam loves Jake. We have had a few play dates, which isn't something that has happened much for Sam. They are great friends and LOVE to be together. They were being scientists on this day...can you tell? Love it!

I Love You Too!

Ben is the early bird at our house. He wakes up about a half hour before anyone else. This is what I woke up to one recent morning. Embellished and everything! It's aluminum foil, which he will sculpt with whenever I'll let him.

Yay Zoe!

Zoe... participating in a school assembly and getting an academic award!!

Nice job Zacq!!

Officer Training

Here he is... Lieutenant Beers. :-) Rob is spending an intense month in Rhode Island at officer training. PT, marching, inspections, tests, chow, and very little free time. That's about all I know. Except that he's dead tired at the end of each day.
Miss you, babe.

Spring Break

The boys and I visited Grandma and Grandpa Mundy for Spring Break. We had a great time. We visited Fort de Chartres near their home in Illinois. This place is like a life size play house! There are things to climb up onto, run around on, climb down into, etc. I think the boys would have played there all day.

Playing dead. Might as well, it's a fort.

Ben is down in a cellar here. He climbed everywhere.

The Wedding

February 26, 2011.

I can't put into words the incredible feelings of this day. My heart was full of faith as we went into the temple. At every stage of the process, I felt like I was floating.
Part of me was struggling to believe it was really happening, and the other part of me was feeling how incredibly real, and permanent, and eternal these things are. I remember looking at Rob and knowing that 1000 years from now, we will still be side by side, working toward the same objectives. And 1000 years after that, still.
I knew, once again, that he was directed to find me, and that he is the one I want to be partnered with for every future step of life and beyond. It struck me what a gift it is to find someone with whom you want to share that kind of future, and it was very clear to me what a blessing we were about to receive...to be sealed, forever.

The Beach

It was a little cold, but since most of us don't see the ocean often, we took a trip to the beach. Of course, Ben and Sam got wet. The rest of us just soaked up some sunshine and watched.
Ben is a wild man in the water. He doesn't care about the cold, he just LOVES the water and the waves. He's begging for a surf board this summer.

Disneyland!

Our first day in California was DISNEYLAND!!
I have to say, it was my best Disney Day ever! Every other time I've been to the park, I've had an infant to care for, or I've been sick, or had a kid who was sick. This time... everyone was healthy, everyone was old enough to really enjoy the park, AND we had two wheelchairs in our party, which means SHORT LINES!
Loved it!

"It's a Small World" was awesome. Watching Sam's face was the best part of the ride. We got stranded on Pirates of the Caribbean for about 15 minutes. Savannah memorized the the lines of the talking skull directly over our heads. We heard his message about 30 times. Ben was brave enough for every ride this time (yay Ben!), and Sam wasn't afraid of anything. Thunder Mountain and the Matterhorn (he and I rode in the front car) were his favorites.
Zoe pushed Sam's wheelchair all through the park. It was so nice. She's such a great big sister!

Exodus...2/23/2011

We arrived at the airport headed for San Diego with 9 passengers, 12 bags to check, and a wheelchair to push. It was a circus, but we were all excited!

Boys did great on the plane.
