Tooth #2

This one wasn't nearly as loose, but Ben was determined, after the toothfairy payout last night, to see if he could get it out. He was WAY braver than his mom. He wanted me to pull it, so I tried, cringing. He wanted to bite an apple or slam a door...yikes! He's a tough one. Way to go, Ben! But I think this is the end of our "tooth-a-day" streak. None of the others are loose.

Hey Toothfairy...

...check this out!

Like the super-brave kid that he is, Ben pulled his first tooth out this morning after I told him about "twisting" the tooth to make it looser. "Didn't hurt at all" he said.

While we were waiting for the bus I said (in my best sentimental mom voice), "Ben I remember when that tooth first came in. You were a little, tiny guy!" He said, "Mom, stop talking like that."

Okay. I'm still excited, though. :-)

Breakin'

Spidey's got moves!

First Day of Summer School

Summer school began last week, and BOTH of my boys are now officially in full-day school. I can't believe it. Sam is loving kindergarten. He comes home smiling and exhausted every afternoon. They ride the bus together, and Ben is quick to help with Sam's seat belts and walker. He's a protective big brother, and I love it!

Royal's Game

Rob and I, Danny and Jenika, and John all went to a Royal's Game in May. Beautiful night, great seats, fireworks, and... they won! Couldn't ask for much more.

Engagement Pictures

While Rob was here for his rotation in May, my brother Danny and his wife Jenika came to visit. Jenika is an incredibly talented photographer, and I'm so glad we had a really good excuse to have her take our picture. You can see the whole collection on her website:

Thank you, Jenika!!

Ft. Leavenworth Triathlon

May 1st was the Ft. Leavenworth Triathlon. Rob came into town the night before, so we competed together. So much fun! Here are some of my favorite pictures from the race. Thanks to Emily and Savannah for coming along cheer and take pictures.

Before the race...Rob (#7) setting up in the transition area. (Dang, he's cute!)

Rob, waiting to swim. He was the 7th racer in the pool because he's SUPER-FAST in the water! I was 118th. :-)

Me, waiting to swim. I include this picture because I like to remember (and brag) that I passed both of the swimmers ahead of me. And I'm not even usually that fast!

Me, heading out on the bike.

Me (#118) at the first transition. Soaking wet, trying to get socks on.

Here's Rob coming across the finish line. Go, baby, GO!

DONE! Tired and sweaty, but still smiling.

Easter

Easter egg hunt, and water guns (instead of candy, yay!) from the Easter Bunny. Don't ask about the goofy headbands... I don't have a good answer. :-)

Uncle Dwight's Pinata

We had lots of company in April. Rachel came with Madden and Halle, Grandma and Grandpa Blazin came, and Uncle Dwight and Aunt Tammy visited. It was tons of fun. One evening, Uncle Dwight decided we needed some pinatas. He returned from shopping with pinatas, candy, and, of course, a sombrero. This event deserves it's own post because the pictures are so funny! The kids went nuts. It was a miracle we didn't go to the emergency room that night... blind-folded, bat-swinging, candy-crazed cousins everywhere.
Awesome.

The candy scramble. This was particularly hazardous if the batter had not yet stopped swinging.

I love the way he's looking at the candy! All dreamy-eyed, with tootsie roll drool down his chin. Perfect!

Spongebob is toast.

Spring Break in Missouri

Rob and his kids visited here for several days during their Spring Break.
Here is some of the fun we had...

Addie, Zoe, and Saige... These crazy girls were inseparable!

Sam and Zoe playing with the castle.

Outlaws... Gabe, Madden, Caleb, Ben, Zacq, JJ.

I love this picture, and all the people in it!
Sam, Grandma Beers, Halle, Rachel, Grandpa Blazin, and my sweetheart!

Sam and Rob leaving the movie theater. We all saw "How to Train Your Dragon".

Singing Cousins

Way back in March, we attended the Warren Hills music program. The music teacher, Mrs. Walker has been a good friend of mine for years. Here is a cute picture of Ben and his cousin JJ doing one of the songs together. They were great!

At the end of the program they did this cute "Stand Up Sit Down" song. Their favorite song, apparently. After this the parents did it with them, and Sam was scared, so I was holding him. I broke a sweat!

Lazy Blogger

There is SO much to catch up on. Except for Sam's walking, I haven't documented a thing for a couple of months. Enough! Time to catch up. The next several posts won't be chronological. Just random things from the past couple of months that I want to remember.
